Update 1.1 Is Out!
After 120 days since the game was released, the first update is out!
This is officially version 1.1.0 with the first 1 representing its released state (as opposed to a beta or alpha version), the second and third numbers indicating the number of updates, being major and minor respectively. Here's a list of all the changes:
New Features
- Added the star system (credit to PotaJoe for ‘star’ animation)
- First ‘star’ is shown whenever player completes level objective
- Second shown if minimum number of kiwis were used
- Third if objective was completed in a certain amount of time
- You can compare your score with that of UAvian if you achieved it
- Added three more levels
- Added crates that are affected by gravity
- In case you accidentally click on ‘back’ in level end screen, you can still go to the next level from main menu with a level selector
- Added volume sliders for music and sound effects in the main menu
- You can go back to any level with a level selector in the credits screen
Changes
- To account for faster paced levels than anticipated:
- Reduced time before a kiwi explodes in pre-existing levels
- Warning sparks start to emit later, 2 seconds before blowing up
- Pre-existing levels now have an extra kiwi/respawn or 2
- Tutorial text has been changed from default font to one with the same resolution as the terrain. Button inputs have been animated. (Feedback appreciated regarding the new tutorial’s legibility.)
- Text shown when out of bounds is now area-specific
- Credits have been improved
- Made new variants for crate textures
- Changed level 1 death pit to be bottomless
- Other minor terrain changes
Bug Fixes
- Fixed viewport bug, allowing for levels where player can play as more than 2 kiwis
- Destructibles no longer have a delay before they are destroyed by kiwi explosion
- Fixed bug where explosion mark floats whenever it spawns on destructible that's about to be destroyed
- Outline no longer shows up whilst buttons pressed
- Reduced lag after explosions
- You can no longer blow up a computer multiple times
- Destructibles should be more stable (there were instances where they caused others to blow up if they were too close).
